snacks by Shira vol. 17: popped sorghum


makes 1 serving


1/4 cup sorghum grain
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1 - 2 tsp ghee
1/4 tsp sea salt


  1. Preheat a stainless steal pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add 1 Tbsp coconut oil.
  3. When coconut oil has melted, add sorghum grains and cover with lid.
  4. Shake the pot continuously as the sorghum grains pop.
  5. When popping has slowed to 8-10 seconds between pops, remove the pan from heat.
  6. Place popped sorghum in bowl and stir in ghee and sea salt.
  7. Enjoy!
