snacks by Shira vol. 12: plantain chips

Just trust me on this one. I love these with copious amounts of spicy guac.


1 green plantain, sliced lengthwise
olive oil
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
dash of cumin


  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Remove the plantain peel by chopping off both ends and making a shallow slit along the long seam of the plantain.
  3. Slice the plantain lengthwise and in half.
  4. Place the slices on a parchment lined baking sheet and coat them in olive oil, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin.
  5. Roast for 10-15 minutes, flipping once, or until golden.
  6. Enjoy!
